TAX ANALYST
Role description
From the employerJob Summary: The tax analyst is responsible for assisting in the development and maintenance of processes and procedures to ensure all of the tax obligations for our Group's companies are met in all jurisdictions in which we operate. The role will involve a combination of hands-on tax compliance & tax accounting, interpretation of tax law, analysis of tax related data, and administration of our tax-related processes. This role is based at our Corporate Office in Montego Bay and reports to the Group Head of Tax. An aptitude for tax along with superior organisation and communication skills are essential.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with the management of the income tax compliance cycle for all
Group Companies.
- Collating and consolidating of the Monthly GCT Returns for selected Jamaican
entities - Reviewing and optimising tax compliance filings and processes for all Sandals territories.
- Assisting with internal audit with issues relating to tax to ensure that
prescribed tax procedures are being correctly followed.
- Assisting with the preparation and updating of transfer pricing documentation
and intercompany transaction schedules.
- Carrying out and documenting tax research to support positions taken by the
Group.
- Creating and using models to assist the business in assessing the tax
implications of commercial decisions
Qualifications
- Qualified Professional Accountant
- Big 4 training preferred.
- Experience and knowledge of the basic foundations of Jamaican, regional
and/or international tax systems.
- Experience in a dedicated tax role is preferable but consideration may be
given to candidates that are new to tax and can demonstrate exceptional academic ability and high potential.
