About Us

Taylor Tax Strategy is a fast-growing accounting firm that serves real estate investors and small business owners. We are driven by integrity, excellence, and client-first service. Our team values initiative, professionalism, and community impact.

Role Overview

The Accounting Operations Manager oversees all client fulfillment across three departments: Bookkeeping, Tax, and Strategy. This role directly manages the leads of each department, ensures quality and capacity across QuickBooks Online bookkeeping, Drake tax prep, and strategy implementation, and resolves cross-department bottlenecks before they reach the COO. This position frees the COO to focus on sales, enrollment, and firm-level strategy.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership

  • Directly manage: Tax manager, Bookkeeping lead, and the SAR Team Lead — hiring, performance reviews, and workload balancing
  • Conduct regular check-ins with each department lead to review KPIs, capacity, and client health
  • Handle/Advise on hiring and firing decisions within Bookkeeping, Tax, and SAR/Strategy

Capacity & Quality

  • Manage staffing, workflow, or tooling changes
  • Review quality across bookkeeping (QBO), tax prep (Drake), and strategy implementation
  • Serve as the escalation point for cross-team issues (e.g., a tax question blocking a bookkeeping deliverable)

Reporting & Strategy

  • Own department-level KPIs and report them to the COO
  • Support oversight of tax strategy implementation across the SAR team (lightest-touch area — trainable on the job)
  • Partner with the COO on transitioning new-client enrollment meetings to the SAR team

Requirements

  • Strong QuickBooks Online bookkeeping background 3+ Years
  • Tax prep experience; Drake Software experience preferred 2+ Years
  • Accounting/finance background sufficient to review both bookkeeping and tax work
  • CPA or EA not required, but a plus
  • Tax strategy exposure a plus, not required

Compensation: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
