Position Summary

  • Gelfand, Rennert & Feldman is seeking a Senior Tax Staff Accountant to join our
  • team of dedicated professionals. The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for
  • the preparation and review of various reports in support of servicing clients,
  • including preparing simple to moderately complex tax returns, as well as tax
  • projections and tax research. This role operates on a hybrid schedule out of our
  • White Plains, NY or New York, NY office.
  • Primary Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review individual, corporate (S corp and C corp), partnership,

estate, trust, fiduciary, and exempt organization tax returns

  • Review General Ledger and reports to assist in preparation of tax projections
  • Perform tax research and planning, as needed, to solve client’s tax issues
  • Correspondence regarding tax notices, jurisdictional issues, and/or tax

audits

  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports that may include net worth

statements, cash flow schedules, meeting packages, budgets, investment

analysis, tour reconciliations, etc.

  • Assist with tour preparation and planning, including budgets and state, local

and international tax clearances, and reductions for touring artists

  • Assist with various business management tasks (such as purchase and sale of

real estate, royalty allocations, prepping RMD schedules, international

employment documents, etc.)

  • Informal supervision and training of Staff Accountant(s)
  • Other projects and duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Tax Staff Accountant or similar role, including

preparing and/or reviewing individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax

returns

  • Bachelor's degree is required, Master's degree is preferred
  • Business management experience, including supporting entertainment and/or

high net-worth individuals is preferred

  • Familiarity with CCH Axcess is preferred
  • Familiarity with AgilLink software is a plus
  • International tax experience is a plus
  • Experience training tax staff accountants is a plus
  • CPA or CPA eligibility is a plus
  • Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly
  • Solid interpersonal skills and other key skills (i.e., communication, time

management, organization, attention to detail, adaptability,

critical-thinking, etc.)

The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $90,000 -

$125,000. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited

to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be

performed, and the applicant's skill set. The base pay is just one component of

the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an

annual bonus and a comprehensive benefits package. Candidate information,

including education and work experience, is verified upon an offer of
