Role description

From the employer

Lead, Innovate, and Drive Excellence with Maersk in Warsaw!

Are you an experienced people leader looking for an opportunity to shape the

future of customs operations within a global logistics powerhouse? At Maersk,

we’re not just moving cargo—we’re transforming the way global trade flows. With

over 100,000 employees in 130 countries, our Global Service Centres (GSCs) play

a vital role in delivering seamless, high-value solutions to our customers. As

we expand our presence in Poland, we’re searching for a Customs Operations

Manager to lead and inspire a team of nearly 90 professionals in our new Warsaw

GSC.

This is a high-impact leadership role, where you’ll be responsible for

developing a team of 40+ professionals, helping define and implement core

processes and infrastructure that deliver efficient, predictable, and

customer-focused services. You’ll lead key projects, continuously improving

workflows to optimize productivity while fostering a culture of excellence and

innovation. Managing such a large team means that your leadership will be

crucial in driving performance, supporting change initiatives, and ensuring that

we operate in alignment with Maersk’s global strategy.

Collaboration is at the heart of this role—you’ll build and maintain strong

relationships with internal stakeholders across different functions, ensuring

smooth communication and operational efficiency. With your strategic mindset,

you’ll play a key role in driving change processes, helping teams adapt, and

improving overall productivity.

Who are we looking for?

To excel in this role, you’ll bring a proven track record of people leadership

of Customs Teams (30 people plus), with at least five years of experience

guiding and developing teams in a fast-paced environment. Your ability to manage

stakeholders in a large organization will be key to ensuring smooth

collaboration and operational success.

A continuous improvement mindset is essential—you’ll be someone who actively

seeks out opportunities to optimize processes and drive efficiency.

Your end-to-end process thinking and strong analytical skills will help you

identify trends, solve complex challenges, and enhance productivity.

You thrive under pressure, able to work independently while managing tight

deadlines, making confident decisions to keep operations running smoothly. With

a deep understanding of customs and logistics, you’ll ensure compliance,

efficiency, and seamless service delivery.

Communication is crucial in this role, so fluency in English and the ability to

build strong business-to-business relationships will set you up for success.

Finally, a degree or equivalent certification will reinforce your expertise and

strategic approach to leadership in this ever-evolving industry.

What do we offer you?

At Maersk, we offer more than just a job—we offer a career in a company that

invests in its people. You’ll have access to competitive salaries, comprehensive

health benefits through Lux Med, and generous retirement plans. We believe

in leadership development, global career opportunities, and fostering

an inclusive and supportive workplace where your contributions are valued. Our

Customs Teams work with flexible work arrangements, professional training

programs, and a strong focus on innovation and sustainability, Maersk is the

perfect place to take your leadership career to the next level.

Salary banding is approximately 16,500 to 20,000 PLN per moth, plus bonus.
