Position Overview
- As a Senior Manager in Real Estate & Partnership Tax, you will serve as a senior
- technical and client relationship leader within the practice. This role focuses
- on overseeing complex engagements, advising sophisticated real estate clients,
- mentoring managers and staff, and supporting the continued growth and leadership
- of the firm’s real estate tax platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and review complex federal, state, and local tax engagements for real
estate partnerships, multi-tier partnership structures, and high-net-worth
individuals.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on advanced partnership tax matters,
including
- Complex 704(b) capital structures and special allocations
- Waterfall modeling and profit-sharing arrangements
- Liability allocations, at-risk rules, and basis planning
- Sections 734(b) and 743(b) adjustments in transactional contexts
- Tax Receivable Agreements (TRAs) and related modeling
- Provide strategic tax planning for real estate transactions, including
acquisitions, dispositions, restructurings, joint ventures, and fund
formations.
- Review and interpret partnership and LLC operating agreements, ensuring
alignment between legal terms and tax reporting.
- Manage and expand client relationships; identify and pursue opportunities to
provide additional tax and advisory services.
- Oversee multiple engagements simultaneously, ensuring technical excellence,
efficient delivery, and risk management.
- Mentor and develop Managers, Senior Associates, and staff; play a key role in
training and leadership development within the practice.
- Collaborate with Partners and Principals on practice development, process
improvements, and strategic initiatives.
- Participate in business development efforts, including proposal development,
networking, and client presentations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive tax experience in public accounting
or a related industry, with significant experience in real estate and
partnership taxation.
- Advanced technical expertise in Subchapter K, including complex allocations,
basis and liability issues, and partnership transactions.
- Strong experience advising real estate owners, developers, investors, and
funds.
- Proven leadership and mentoring experience, including managing managers and
large engagement teams.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and client advisory skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- CPA license required; MST, JD, or LL.M. strongly preferred.
