- Our Accounting department keeps the official books and records of the company,
- publishes financial statements and compliance documents, and provides analyses
- and tools to company leaders to make the best business decisions. The department
- is made up of several groups who work together to complete all accounting
- functions including Loan Accounting, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Financial
- Reporting, Corporate Taxes, Special Initiatives, and Financial Reporting &
- Analysis.
- The Impact You Will Have
- In this role, you will support the company’s tax reporting and compliance
- processes by ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to regulatory
- requirements. Partnering closely with the VP of Tax Compliance and the SVP /
- Controller, you will contribute to corporate tax accounting and reporting in
accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC standards. Your work will help strengthen
internal controls, support timely and accurate tax filings, and enhance the
overall efficiency and effectiveness of the tax function.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and review of corporate tax returns, including
direct, indirect, VAT, and international filings.
- Support the preparation of quarterly and annual GAAP tax provisions.
- Prepare and maintain supporting documentation for tax provisions in
collaboration with the Accounting team.
- Record quarterly and annual tax-related journal entries.
- Process tax payments and ensure accurate recording of related entries.
- Coordinate the collection and validation of financial data required for tax
reporting and filings.
- Track, manage, and respond to tax notices and correspondence in a timely
manner.
- Collaborate with external tax advisors and consultants to support compliance
and reporting requirements.
- Ensure tax and accounting processes adhere to internal controls, policies,
and procedures, including SOX 404 requirements.
- Partner with internal and external auditors to support audits and respond to
inquiries.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy,
and reporting capabilities.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships across the Accounting
function.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Attendance is generally required from 8:30 am – 5:30 pm local time, Tuesday
through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- CPA preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in accounting or corporate tax.
- Experience in the financial services industry preferred.
- Exposure to tax returns and/or tax provisions is helpful but not required;
training will be provided.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, including U.S. GAAP.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage
multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the
organization.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build strong working
relationships.
- Familiarity with tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, or other data/automation
tools is a plus.
- Self-motivated with a proactive mindset and commitment to continuous
improvement.
- Adaptability and ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Strong professional judgment and integrity.
- Ability to show ownership of your work, take on challenges and acknowledge
growth opportunities, and demonstrate patience when learning new processes.

This position has an estimated base salary of $80,000 - $90,000 plus
discretionary bonus. An employment offer is based on the applicant’s relevant
work experience, applicable knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and
alignment with market data.
