
Senior Tax Consultant, Property Tax (Strategic Valuation Services)

Position Summary
- Conduct complex personal property compliance projects and assessment reviews of
- machinery and equipment for industrial manufacturing, mining, oil & gas,
- communication, and energy property as well as assist with implementation of tax
- savings recommendations and strategies.
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Review annual personal property tax returns and reconciliations
- Review personal property fixed asset listings for misclassified assets
- Review state and local laws, rules, and regulations
- Conduct physical inspections of manufacturing, communication, energy, mining,
and oil & gas facilities and meet with production managers at client
locations
- Meet with client financial and accounting personnel to review policies and
procedures
- Prepare analysis detailing issues and opportunities for property tax savings
- Produce and edit reports of findings along with the tax manager to ensure
accuracy
- Meet with clients to discuss implementation of report of finding and address
liabilities
- Assist client tax department personnel with personal property filings and
changes in methodology
- Assist client in filing appeals, amended annual returns and refund requests
- Assist in negotiations for assessment reductions before assessing authorities
- Represent and manage clients during formal appeals
Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Industrial Engineering,
or related field, coursework in Appraisal desired
- 3-5 years’ experience as an Associate Tax Consultant (or similar type of
position)
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver’s license
