About the role
- The Trusts, Estates and Tax (TET) team is now seeking a Senior Associate or
Managing Associate-level lawyer with circa. 3 - 7 PQE. The team advise high and
ultra-high net worth clients in a wide variety of trusts, estate and tax
planning matters and work closely with the wider national TET team whose
combined services include acting as independent administrators in high-net-worth
contested estates, advising on complex mental capacity issues, administering
cross-border estates and advising agricultural clients.
In particular, the team is part of the firm’s extensive Private Client Services
offering and also supports the wider firm, for example as part of our Private
Wealth Initiative which brings together a variety of specialist teams including
Corporate, Corporate Tax, Agricultural Property and Family to build holistic,
solution driven advice for business owner clients. The TET team in the North has
specialist knowledge in this area and is looking to grow its practice due to the
level of work demand.
This role will give you the opportunity to develop professionally, working on
high quality instructions alongside leaders in their respective fields. The role
will involve supporting a Director, drafting of complex legal documents
including trusts and wills and ideally administering estates. There is therefore
a huge variety of interesting work. Progression is absolutely on offer for the
right candidate and as a result, business development activities will be
supported and encouraged.
Your skills and qualifications
- Have directly relevant previous experience and have the correct level of post
qualified experience (PQE) for the role in question.
- To have experience in TET services.
- A proven track record of competent financial management, ability to meet
client expectations and sound case management skills.
- Good IT skills, experience, and confidence with using case management
systems, electronic time recording and general Microsoft packages.
- To be a self-starting, friendly individual with excellent interpersonal
skills and an ability to take initiative.
- To be able to consistently demonstrate and embody the firm’s values.
