About the Freeths Private Client Services Team

The Freeths TET team is 50 strong and spread nationally across our 13 offices.

For 15 consecutive years Freeths’ Trusts, Estate and Tax lawyers have secured a

Tier 1 ranking in the UK’s leading legal directory, Chambers and Partners High

Net Worth Guide.

About the role

  • The Trusts, Estates and Tax (TET) team is now seeking a Senior Associate or

Managing Associate-level lawyer with circa. 3 - 7 PQE. The team advise high and

ultra-high net worth clients in a wide variety of trusts, estate and tax

planning matters and work closely with the wider national TET team whose

combined services include acting as independent administrators in high-net-worth

contested estates, advising on complex mental capacity issues, administering

cross-border estates and advising agricultural clients.

In particular, the team is part of the firm’s extensive Private Client Services

offering and also supports the wider firm, for example as part of our Private

Wealth Initiative which brings together a variety of specialist teams including

Corporate, Corporate Tax, Agricultural Property and Family to build holistic,

solution driven advice for business owner clients. The TET team in the North has

specialist knowledge in this area and is looking to grow its practice due to the

level of work demand.

This role will give you the opportunity to develop professionally, working on

high quality instructions alongside leaders in their respective fields. The role

will involve supporting a Director, drafting of complex legal documents

including trusts and wills and ideally administering estates. There is therefore

a huge variety of interesting work. Progression is absolutely on offer for the

right candidate and as a result, business development activities will be

supported and encouraged.

Your skills and qualifications

  • Have directly relevant previous experience and have the correct level of post

qualified experience (PQE) for the role in question.

  • To have experience in TET services.
  • A proven track record of competent financial management, ability to meet

client expectations and sound case management skills.

  • Good IT skills, experience, and confidence with using case management

systems, electronic time recording and general Microsoft packages.

  • To be a self-starting, friendly individual with excellent interpersonal

skills and an ability to take initiative.

  • To be able to consistently demonstrate and embody the firm’s values.

SMART. BOLD. TOGETHER. WE ARE FREETHS.
