###About the Role### Ketjen Catalysts (Shanghai) Company Limited – Dalian Branch is currently seeking a motivated individual for the position of Indirect Tax Specialist – ASPAC reporting to the Indirect Tax Manager located in the Budapest, Hungary Global Service Center. This position will be in the Ketjen Shared Service Center in Dalian, Liaoning Province.
###responsibilities### of the job include: Responsible for VAT/GST compliance, day-to-day tax issues for assigned entities within ASPAC Region that utilize SAP reporting (including China, Taiwan, Singapore, possibly India, and future locations). Also responsible for assisting with and ensuring timely filing for other jurisdictions that do not use SAP and the responsibility for filing is with outsourced providers (including South Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia).
Responsible for China VAT refund / Export VAT refund declaration if any. Follow up variances in VAT reconciliations to make sure no aging items. Responsible for mandatory statistics report and possible local governmental report regards to indirect tax for China entities.
Support of special projects that advance Tax Department initiatives. Calculating and maintaining tax attribute data for use in tax planning and compliance. Responding to audit inquiries and information requests from tax authorities with respect to tax compliance work.
Partnering with personnel in other corporate functions (Invoice to Cash and Request to Pay, statutory, financial reporting, procurement, supply chain, operations, etc.) to achieve company goals. This position requires strong technical knowledge of indirect tax regulations, attention to detail, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, manufacturing-focused environment.
The specialist will support new business initiatives, system changes, and operational projects by evaluating indirect tax implications. Identify opportunities to improve indirect tax processes, reporting accuracy, and efficiency. Support ERP tax configuration and automation initiatives to enhance compliance and reduce manual effort.
###QUALIFICATIONS### Qualifications, language skills: Bachelor’s degree, Accounting or Finance preferred. Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of Japanese or Korean, or other languages is a plus. Work experience: Work
###experience### with VAT reporting (preparation or review) is a must. Strong preference for candidates with
###experience### with VAT filing, reconciliation and related accounting tasks for multiple countries. Work
###experience### with third party invoicing in China (Golden Tax). IT skills: Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
###Experience### using ERP systems (SAP preferred).
###Experience### with ONESOURCE Tax Determination Tools a plus. Desired Skills: Ability to work independently on a day-to-day basis. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Well organized with good attention to detail Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to work with people from all areas of a multi-national business and from diverse cultural backgrounds.
