Eligibility Effective Day One 401K with Employer Match Tuition Reimbursement After One Year of Service Fertility Assistance Program Four-Week Company-Paid Sabbatical Eligibility After Five Years of Service The Manager is responsible for leading tax accounting methods engagements, focusing on identifying and evaluating opportunities related to the timing of income and deductions, including areas such as inventory, revenue recognition, and other accounting method positions.
This role involves managing engagements from initial analysis through implementation, coordinating with clients and internal stakeholders, and reviewing technical positions and related documentation, including method change filings where applicable. The Manager will work closely with a small team, including junior staff, providing guidance and support while ensuring high-quality deliverables and a strong client experience.
In addition, the Manager is responsible for managing multiple engagements, maintaining key client relationships, and contributing to the growth of the practice. A successful Manager will be able to manage multiple projects, communicate complex technical concepts clearly, and drive value for clients through improved cash flow and well-supported tax positions.
###Duties### and responsibilities, as they align to Ryan’s Key Results People: Create a positive team member experience. Leads team in developing project workplans and scheduling associated project deliverables. Acts as a mentor, guiding team members on their career paths.
Client: Builds strong relationships with clients and with the firm’s leadership. Travels to client locations to gather information. Performs as the oversight to the quality of work performed by the team for clients.
Prepares and conducts client presentations. Assists with client billing and financial forecasting. Responds to client inquiries and requests from tax authorities.
When necessary, defends client tax positions in court. Value: Maintains a professional and positive attitude at all times, being a team player and able to multitask and adjust to changing priorities. Manages complex income tax projects, especially in the Tax Accounting Methods area as well as other federal tax planning opportunities Works effectively in a complex, deadline-driven environment.
Handles tasks in a timely manner and with a high degree of accuracy. Handles and safeguards confidential information and sensitive material. Possesses solid analytical aptitude, research, and problem-solving skills.
Utilizes strong grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills. Reviews documentation and researches issues as needed. Effectively delegates work among team.
Prepares Forms 3115 and statements required as project deliverables.
###duties### as assigned. Education and Experience: Four-year college degree from an accredited institution in practice-relevant area with 5+ years practice-relevant experience, including 1+ year of management
###experience### (formal or informal). Must have excellent organization and time management skills, strong communication skills, and willingness to learn and be a team player. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have beginner’s knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research.
Certificates and Licenses: Valid driver’s license required. Supervisory Responsibilities: Requires limited supervisory responsibilities, including training peers and checking work for accuracy and completeness. Work Environment: Standard indoor working environment.
Occasional long periods of sitting while working at computer. Occasional long periods of standing while copying. Position requires regular interaction with employees and clients both in person and via e-mail and telephone.
Independent travel requirement: 30 to 40%.
