Our national Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Tax group is an advisory practice
with significant advancement opportunities. We advise private equity firms,
family offices, privately held companies and multinational corporations on the
tax aspects of planning, structuring and executing M&A transactions.
RSM is looking for a dynamic Tax professional to join our national Mergers and
Acquisitions (M&A) Tax group. This is a rapidly growing consulting practice with
significant advancement opportunities. We advise multinational corporations,
privately held companies, partnerships, and private equity firms on the tax
aspects of planning, structuring, and executing M&A transactions.
Responsibilities
- Work as a part of a multi-disciplinary team that focuses on delivering due
diligence and tax structuring services, and communicates findings and
opportunities to clients
- Work with and assist other senior members of the M&A Tax practice with
various technical tax issues dealing with consolidated returns, S
Corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies
- Assist clients with reorganizations, bankruptcy emergence planning, out of
court workouts, debt restructurings, tax basis, Earning and Profits, and
Section 382 studies
- Develop, motivate, and train team members
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field from an accredited
university
- Completion of all educational requirements for CPA licensure eligibility in
the state of residence or completion of all requirements to sit for the Bar
exam by the start date
- At least four years of tax-related experience
- Strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Proven capability to meet client service, quality, and performance
expectations within established deadlines and in accordance with firm and
client standards
- Clear, professional, and effective communication skills with firm personnel
and clients, including in‑person, telephone, electronic, and written
communication
- Demonstrated project management skills, including managing multiple
priorities and tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and quality in
a fast‑paced, client service environment
- Capacity to work effectively in a professional office setting, including
prolonged computer use and operation of standard office equipment
- Commitment to maintaining a consistent onsite presence during core business
hours, with regular reporting to a firm office and travel to client sites as
required (including reliable transportation)
- Willingness to work extended and/or non‑standard hours during peak periods or
as business needs require
Preferred Qualifications
- Active professional accreditation, in process, or willingness and ability to
obtain one of the following: CPA, EA, or licensed attorney

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect
their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary
range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents
numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited
to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such,
pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
Compensation Range: $120,000 - $240,900
Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus
based on firm and individual performance.
