Job Description Summary

  • The Senior Tax Manager plays the main role of all tax operations, including but
  • not limited to overseeing tax compliance, planning, audit, and preparation,
  • while ensuring adherence to the latest tax laws and regulations.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • Responsible for the review and preparation of federal and state income tax

returns, including corporations and partnerships

  • Responsible for the review and preparation of income tax provisions,

including effective tax rate modeling and forecasting

  • Responsible for all prepared-by-client workpapers requested by CPA firms
  • Overseeing and ensuring accurate and timely sales & use tax filings
  • Acting as the knowledge base for sales & use tax matters, including but not

limited to answering questions, providing documents, and communicating

clearly to non-tax members

  • Building strong relationships with cross-functional teams to gather and

validate data needed for compliance

  • Identifying opportunities to improve tax operations, including optimizing or

revising current operations

  • Identifying and leading projects of federal and state tax credits &

incentives

  • Developing and implementing tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and

maximize opportunities

  • Working with both executive and tax teams to develop and execute tax

operational strategies

  • Identifying complex tax issues and leading tax research projects
  • Monitoring legislative and regulatory tax developments and communicating

changes to the wider team

  • Leading all communications with our internal teams and our third-party CPA

firms

  • Leading all communications with various tax authorities, including statutory

tax audits and inquiries

Secondary Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assisting Director of Tax to manage the tax department as assigned
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Skills or Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • CPA designation (or in progress, with some exam sections completed)
  • Minimum 10 years of prior experience working in a public accounting firm (tax

focus) and/or corporate tax department

  • Strong technical knowledge of federal and state tax compliance
  • Strong research skills and written/verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to collaborate and lead tax discussions with internal teams and

external teams

  • Skilled at managing multiple priorities, adapting to changing demands, and

meeting critical deadlines with flexibility

  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, proactive, and accountable
  • Providing mentorship and guidance to Tax Manager(s) and Tax Analyst(s)
