PwC’s Accounting & Tax compliance team in Bulgaria supports a broad portfolio of
local and international clients with substantial corporate income tax (CIT) and
VAT compliance requirements. The role offers professionals the opportunity to
work primarily on CIT and VAT compliance engagements and to develop a
tax-focused career, clearly differentiated from accounting and advisory roles.
Who this role is for?
- The position is intended for early to mid-level professionals with relevant
tax compliance experience and a demonstrated interest in CIT and VAT.
- University degree in Economics, Finance or Accounting
- 1–3 years of experience in tax compliance, corporate taxation and/or VAT;
- Practical knowledge of Bulgarian CIT and VAT legislation;
- Experience with preparation and review of tax returns, calculations and
supporting documentation;
- Previous experience in a tax advisory firm, accounting firm or in-house tax
function is an advantage;
- Very good command of Bulgarian and English;
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and willingness to learn.
What you will actually do?
- This is a tax-driven role, not an accounting position.
- Prepare and review Corporate Income Tax returns, annual tax reconciliations
and related filings;
- Prepare and review VAT returns, VIES declarations and other indirect tax
filings;
- Support clients in meeting their ongoing tax compliance obligations;
- Assist in communication with tax authorities and during tax audits and
inspections;
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their practical impact on
clients;
- Work closely with PwC teams in Bulgaria and across the PwC network on
compliance-driven engagements.
