- What you will do:
- Provide tax advocacy services on criminal and civil matters. Participating in
IRS audits, and administrative hearings
- Advocate on clients' behalf before the collection and examination divisions
of the Internal Revenue Service throughout the United States, and all 50
state tax agencies
- Research and consult on various tax matters, respond to IRS and other tax
authority inquiries when requested, make recommendations to the client for
consideration
- Conduct business fraud investigations
- Proactively build relationships and communicate effectively with the client
to provide superior client service
- Invest in professional development through active participation in training
sessions and networking events both internally and externally
- Demonstrate excellent team skills, positive attitude and high ethical
standards
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent required. Master’s Degree, MST,
JD, or other applicable advanced degree a plus
- CPA, CFE, or Enrolled Agent Certifications highly desired
- Two (2) or more years of experience in a professional services firm providing
tax compliance services or equivalent government agency. Previous experience
in tax examination, tax advocacy or controversy a plus
- Former experience specializing in forensic accounting and investigative
matters relating to government investigations and tax advocacy highly desired
- Demonstrated management, analytical, organization, interpersonal, project
management, communication skills, and highly developed Microsoft Suite skills
(Word, Excel) required
- Ability to provide exceptional client service, demonstrate commitment to
continuous learning, display appropriate ethical knowledge and commitment and
exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and the timely
completion of duties
- The ability to work effectively in a team environment and comfortably
interact with senior level client personnel, including supporting the
preparation of and participating in executive briefings
- Excellent written/verbal communications and collaboration skills
- Strong project management and facilitation skills
- Flexibility to travel to client site as needed and ability to work beyond
core business hours for client engagements
The pay rate range for this job position is $95,000 to $130,110. Actual
compensation is influenced by a variety of relevant factors including but not
limited to applicant’s skills, prior experience, qualifications, degrees,
professional certifications, work arrangements and geographic location. Baker
Tilly offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package to eligible
employees.
