As a Tax Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of
financial information for our clients, such as business and individual tax
returns, with the benefit of gaining exposure to a diverse client base operating
in a variety of industries. The Tax Senior Accountant maintains client
relationships and oversees the work of internal staff and works closely with
internal leaders, to ensure high-quality work is conducted and delivered to our
clients.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Tax Preparation
- Lead and manage a portfolio of tax engagements, including planning,
preparation, and review of various tax returns (individual, corporate,
partnership, etc.)
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, addressing their
tax-related inquiries, providing recommendations, and fostering strong client
relationships
- Collaborate with partners and managers to ensure seamless client service
delivery and alignment with overall firm objectives
Research and Analysis
- Conduct thorough tax research and analysis to develop proactive tax planning
strategies for clients, identifying opportunities to minimize tax liabilities
and optimize financial outcomes
- Collaborate with the internal team to assist in providing expert guidance on
complex tax matters, including mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, and
other business transactions
Client Communication
- Effectively communicate complex tax concepts and strategies to clients,
tailoring explanations to their understanding and addressing their questions
or concerns
- Prepare and deliver presentations to clients on tax-related matters,
providing insights into their financial situations and potential tax
implications
Compliance and Documentation
- Review and oversee the preparation of tax returns to ensure accuracy,
compliance with regulations, and adherence to internal quality control
standards
- Monitor and manage tax filing deadlines, extensions, and other compliance
requirements to avoid penalties and ensure timely submissions
- Stay current with federal, state, and local tax laws, regulations, and
changes, ensuring the firm and its clients are compliant with the latest tax
requirements
- Team Collaboration
- Collaborate with other tax professionals within the firm to share insights,
knowledge, and best practices
- Supervise and mentor tax staff, providing guidance, training, and feedback to
foster their professional growth and ensure the quality of their work
- Cultivate a collaborative team environment, promoting knowledge sharing and
effective communication among team members
- Participate in internal training sessions to enhance your technical skills
and stay updated on industry trends
Process Improvement and Innovation
- Identify opportunities to enhance tax workflows, processes, and
methodologies, contributing to the continuous improvement of the firm's tax
services
Supervisory responsibilities
- May supervise subordinate team members
Work environment
- Work is conducted in a professional office environment with minimal
distractions
Physical demands
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and performing work in front of a
computer screen for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at a time
Travel required
- Travel may be frequent and unpredictable, depending on client’s needs
Required education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- 3 – 6 years of relevant experience
- Software: CCH Prosystem FX, Axcess Tax, Axcess Document, Axcess Workstream,
Thomson Reuters Fixed Assets CS, Checkpoint for Tax Research
Preferred education and experience
- Experience in professional service environment, such as a CPA firm, financial
consulting firm, or similar setting
- Actively working towards achieving CPA or Enrolled Agent licensure or
relevant certification, if not already attained
- Responsible for completing the minimum CPE credit requirement

include a good faith salary range for every job, promotion and transfer
opportunity. This range considers many factors, including but not limited to a
candidate’s knowledge, job specific skills, experience, licensure, and
certifications. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this position is
$95,000 to $120,000.
