As a Manager, Private Business Tax, you’ll play a vital role in delivering

strategic tax planning, compliance and advisory services that optimise clients’

tax positions, manage risk and guide them through growth, succession and

transaction milestones. You'll be working with clients across infrastructure,

utilities and resources, property, financial services (including funds

management, technology, manufacturing, consumer services, retail,

transport, mining and medical.

What you’ll do

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their

business needs and providing tailored tax advice

  • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimise clients' tax positions and

ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations

  • Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, providing guidance, support, and

professional development opportunities

  • Identify and mitigate tax-related risks for clients, ensuring they are aware

of potential issues and solutions

  • Identify opportunities for expanding services with existing clients

and attracting new clients to the firm

  • Stay updated on the latest tax laws and regulations, and provide insights and

training to the team and clients

  • Oversee multiple client projects and compliance obligations, ensuring they

are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget

  • Conduct detailed financial analysis to support tax planning and

decision-making processes.

  • Work closely with other departments, such as audit and advisory, to provide

comprehensive services to clients

  • Work with clients across a wide range of industries including property,

transport, mining and medical through all stages of their business life cycle

including growth and succession/exit, developing solutions for the complex

problems that arise in each stage

  • Working on complex corporate tax compliance and consulting advice, domestic

tax issues including consolidation and restructuring advice and international

tax matters

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience working with large privately owned corporate

businesses, providing strategic tax advice, compliance solutions and tax

effect accounting services.

  • Up‑to‑date technical knowledge of tax laws and industry trends, and the

ability to translate these into practical, innovative

strategies for privately owned domestic and foreign

owned corporate groups with turnovers exceeding $1bn.

  • A strong track record of leading, mentoring and developing teams to build a

collaborative, high‑performing culture.

  • Commercial acumen with experience identifying growth opportunities and

expanding services with existing and new clients.

  • Excellent relationship‑building and stakeholder management skills across a

range of industries.

  • Experience streamlining processes and applying best practices to improve

efficiency and reduce costs.
