- services, helping businesses navigate complex customs regulations and trade
- challenges. As part of our expansion, we’re seeking a skilled Customs Consultant
- to join our expert team and contribute to our growing service portfolio.
- Your Role & Responsibilities
- As a Customs Consultant, you will play a key role in delivering expert customs
- advisory services, ensuring compliance with ever-changing regulations, and
- helping clients optimise their customs processes.
Your key responsibilities will include
- Customs & Trade Advisory – Provide expert guidance on customs regulations,
compliance strategies, and trade optimisation opportunities.
- Client Relationship Management – Build and maintain strong client
relationships, acting as a trusted advisor for their customs needs.
- Business Development – Identify new business opportunities, contribute to
sales strategies, and prepare proposals to expand our consultancy services.
- Regulatory Compliance – Stay up to date with UK, EU, and international
customs regulations, ensuring clients remain compliant and minimise risks.
- Process Improvement – Work with clients to optimise their customs and trade
operations, driving efficiencies and cost savings.
- Market Research & Insights – Monitor industry trends, competitor activities,
and emerging opportunities to keep ALS ahead of the curve.
What You Bring
To succeed in this role, you’ll need
- 5+ years of experience in customs consultancy or a related field
(international trade, customs brokerage, or supply chain management).
- Strong knowledge of UK & EU customs regulations, trade procedures, and
compliance requirements.
- Experience with special customs procedures (such as Inward Processing,
Outward Processing, and Customs Warehousing) is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to
interpret complex regulatory requirements.
- Strong communication and presentation skills – the ability to simplify and
explain technical customs concepts to clients. • Advanced Excel skills (Power
Query, PowerPivot, pivot tables, data analysis).
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating
effectively with the wider team.
