The Tax and Accounting Manager Brazil is responsible for leading all accounting
and tax operations for the Brazil organization, ensuring compliance with local
statutory requirements, tax regulations, corporate accounting policies, and
internal control standards. This role will oversee accounting close activities,
tax compliance, financial reporting, statutory audits, and governance processes,
while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement across finance
operations.
This position will support the Controller Brazil in ensuring financial accuracy,
compliance, strong internal controls, and execution of all accounting and tax
obligations for the Brazil operation.
This position reports to the Controller Brazil and is part of the Finance
organization located in São Paulo, Brazil, and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to
- Lead all accounting operations for Brazil, including month-end close,
reconciliations, statutory reporting, and balance sheet integrity, partnering
with regional and global finance teams to support reporting requirements,
process standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage all direct and indirect tax activities, including tax calculations,
tax reporting, tax compliance, and fulfillment of all ancillary tax
obligations (obrigações acessórias).
- Ensure compliance with Brazilian accounting standards, IFRS requirements,
SOX/internal controls, and Danaher corporate policies.
- Coordinate and lead internal and external audit processes, ensuring timely
responses, documentation readiness, and remediation of audit findings when
applicable, and develop the local accounting and tax team, fostering a
culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, tax consultants, regulatory
authorities, and shared service teams, with support implementation and
monitoring of internal controls, ensuring a strong compliance and governance
environment.
- Drive accuracy and compliance across financial reporting, tax filings, and
statutory obligations for all Brazil legal entities.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting and tax processes through
automation, standardization, and Danaher Business System (DBS) methodologies.
The essential requirements of the job include
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related
field.
- Active CRC certification is mandatory.
- Long-standing experience in accounting, tax, audit, or finance operations
roles within multinational organizations.
- Strong knowledge of Brazilian tax legislation, statutory accounting, IFRS
reporting, and internal controls/SOX environment.
- Experience managing external and internal audits, including statutory and
compliance-related audits.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar financial
platforms.
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
- No travel requirements for this role.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Experience in the healthcare, diagnostics, medical devices, or life sciences
industry.
- Previous exposure to Danaher Business System (DBS), Lean, or other continuous
improvement methodologies.
- Experience working with multinational shared service center environments.
