Role description

From the employer

Ledcor is looking for a sharp and driven Tax Manager to join our Finance team

and play a central role in shaping the tax compliance and reporting framework

for the Ledcor Group.

Reporting to the Tax Director, you'll lead the preparation and coordination of

Ledcor's Canadian income tax compliance and reporting obligations — bringing

technical depth, sound judgment, and a continuous improvement mindset to

everything you do. As a subject matter specialist in Canadian income taxation of

private companies, you'll provide authoritative guidance grounded in rigorous

research, analysis, and interpretation of tax legislation.

This is a role for someone who thrives on complexity, takes ownership, and

brings clarity to challenging problems — whether managing enquiries from federal

and provincial tax authorities, identifying process improvements, or

contributing to strategic tax initiatives across the organization.

Come join the True Blue team by applying today in Vancouver, BC.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead end-to-end preparation and review of Canadian federal and provincial

corporate income tax returns for a large portfolio of entities — including

corporations and partnerships within the Ledcor Group — ensuring accuracy,

completeness, and legislative compliance.

  • Coordinate complex information requirements across multiple stakeholders,

partnering with internal teams and external advisors to support compliance

obligations, provide input into tax planning activities, and ensure timely

and efficient execution.

  • Identify and analyze complex Canadian tax issues, providing well-supported

recommendations on appropriate tax treatment and escalating as required.

  • Prepare annual income tax provisions for consolidated financial statements in

accordance with applicable tax legislation, leveraging a strong understanding

of business operations and financial results.

  • Collaborate with external financial statement auditors by responding to tax

accounting inquiries and supporting audit processes.

  • Prepare and/or review year-end tax journal entries to ensure accurate and

compliant financial statement reporting.

  • Prepare annual safe income calculations to support the payment of

intercompany dividends.

  • Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of transfer pricing

documentation and support adherence to transfer pricing regulations across

multiple jurisdictions.

  • Serve as the primary liaison for enquiries from federal and provincial tax

authorities — applying subject matter expertise to prepare correspondence,

assess risk, and develop well-supported responses.

  • Support and facilitate tax audits and reviews by preparing documentation and

ensuring timely, effective resolution of issues in alignment with applicable

legislation and organizational objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or related field
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
  • Completion of CICA In-Depth Tax Courses
  • Minimum 6 years of public accounting firm experience working with

Canadian-controlled private companies

  • Experience in a corporate tax department
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian income tax legislation and working knowledge

of Canadian foreign affiliate rules

  • Solid knowledge of tax accounting standards
  • Excellent ability to plan large-scale projects, coordinate timelines, and

manage personal workload to meet deadlines

  • Advanced analytical skills in interpreting financial data
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build

effective business relationships
