###the role### is responsible for contributing to the accurate and timely preparation of Canadian and U. S. tax filings and coordinating with external advisors in additional jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and regulatory requirements.
Beyond core compliance responsibilities, the Senior Associate, Tax plays an active role in the continuous improvement of tax processes and workflows, participates in cross‑functional initiatives, and supports broader tax‑related projects, including elements of deal support, tax governance, and policy development. This role offers a well‑rounded opportunity for an early‑career tax professional to develop technical depth while gaining exposure beyond traditional tax compliance within a collaborative and evolving tax function.
As a Member of Our Team, You Will be Responsible For: Prepare and manage assigned Canadian federal and provincial income tax returns and related information filings, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely submission. Prepare and review monthly and quarterly GST/HST filings and reconciliations, including analysis of variances and resolution of discrepancies. Support IMCO’s U.
S. tax compliance and reporting obligations by coordinating with external tax service providers, reviewing filings and deliverables for reasonableness, and ensuring consistency with underlying data and facts. Act as a point of contact for tax‑related KYC and regulatory requests, including FATCA, CRS, W‑8s, and certificates of residency, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external counterparties.
Own the collection, review, and tracking of U. S. K‑1s and other foreign tax information slips, identifying data gaps, following up with counterparties, and escalating issues as appropriate.
Prepare and support correspondence with tax authorities (CRA, IRS, and others), including audit and examination requests, notices, and routine inquiries. Interacting with internal stakeholders to manage the tax payment and tax refund processes. Contribute to the continuous improvement of tax processes, controls, and workflows by analyzing information flows, identifying inefficiencies, and proposing practical enhancements.
Stay current on changes in Canadian and international tax legislation and administrative guidance, and assess the potential impact on IMCO’s tax compliance and reporting obligations. Assist in the preparation of internal tax reporting, including bi-annual tax updates and materials for senior finance leadership. Assist with the hiring of tax interns and provide guidance and on‑the‑job support.
Support ad hoc tax projects, research initiatives, and cross‑functional workstreams. What you need to succeed: Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Pursuing or obtained the CPA designation.

The placement within the range is determined by the range of market pay for the specific position, as well as the candidate's knowledge, skillset and
