From the employer###Job Description### What is the opportunity? This is an exciting, high-impact opportunity for people and project-minded leaders. The Director, Global Tax Operations is a senior position overseeing key teams in RBC Wealth Management Canada Operations.
###duties### within Operations. Under the Global Tax Operations mandate, this role is accountable for global tax and information reporting under Qualified Intermediary (QI), Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA), and Common Reporting Standard (CRS) regimes, inclusive of regulatory oversight, withholding, reporting, and ongoing compliance.

Operations Leadership Coach, mentor, and lead diverse teams of subject matter experts, focusing on employee enablement and operational sustainability.
Champion employee engagement and well-being, driving a culture of trust, inclusivity, and continuous improvement. Be comfortable with uncertainty and new technology, guiding large teams to adapt quickly to evolving business, risk, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with employees across all levels to understand our needs and strategically prioritize resources and development.
Oversee budgets and forecasting, demonstrating responsible cost control for ongoing maintenance and new application development. Business Partnership Communicate often and effectively, simplifying complex concepts for a wide audience including senior executives and business leaders. Promptly and proactively action risks and decisions impacting our business, working closely with Operations, enterprise stakeholders, and business partners to identify challenges and opportunities, and influence direction.
Develop a network of internal and external partners to assess best practices and provide expert direction on industry trends and upcoming challenges. Anticipate business needs for operational support, planning and advocating well in advance to minimize impact to Operations, our business, and our clients. Challenge effectively to protect our business and advocate ferociously for continual improvement.
Regulatory Oversight Oversee QI, FATCA, and CRS reporting and compliance, communicating effectively with regulators and industry partners on behalf of the business lines we support, and acting as the escalation point for business inquiries around global tax compliance. Be accountable for RBC’s adherence to regulator (CIRO, CRA, IRS, etc.)
