Job Description

  • The Manager Inbound and Customs is responsible for leading  customs compliance,
  • and trade operations across SEA(Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia,
  • Vietnam, Brunei etc), ensuring compliant, efficient, and cost‑effective
  • cross‑border logistics aligned with international trade regulations. This role
  • helps maintain business continuity and timely delivery products while
  • contributing to trade compliance, logistics performance, and trade risks
  • mitigation.
  • Principal Duties and Responsibilities (General Summary, essential

functions and authorities, etc.)

  • Ensure the timely, compliant movement of  J&J products and act as  primary

liaison with government authorities to facilitate regulatory communication

and alignment.

  • Design and document standardized SOPs for import/export; establish KPIs and

continuous monitoring to improve reliability and execution.

  • Partner with Regional and Global trade compliance on policy

implementation/regulatory updates; lead internal audits, prepare for

government inspections and implement corrective action plans for compliance

gaps. (e.g. HS classification, customs valuation and country of origin

determinations, etc.)

  • Manage 3PL /4PL providers, FFs and customs brokers. Optimize vendor

performance through regular performance reviews.

  • Manage duty optimization programs, bonded zones and tariff mitigation

strategies.

  • Coordinate with IT partners to drive digitalization initiatives to enable

customs automation.

Other responsibilities defined in written procedures.

  • Monitor KPIs including OTIF, lead time, freight cost and service level etc.
  • Manage and improve import/export data, ensuring consistency between Customs

records and J&J systems.

  • Map customs-bonded inventory to physical goods and perform regular

reconciliations.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to lead continuous improvement

projects that maintain high customer satisfaction and deliver measurable cost

savings.

  • Develop contingency plans for supply disruption, port congestion and

geopolitical risks; Maintain trade operations  documentation in accordance

with the respective requirements.

  • Basic Requirement, including Education and/or Knowledge and/or Training

and/or key Relevant Experience required.

Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in  customs and trade compliance
  • Experience in a regulated industry (medical device, pharmaceutical or

healthcare) strongly preferred.

  • Familiar with ERP system, bonded logistics and FTA operations.
  • Strong communication skills in English and Mandarin.

-Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, International Trading, or related
