From the employerMain Purpose: Tax Compliance Manager needed for the Global Tax Team of a multinational company.
###The role### focuses on supporting the business by delivering tax advice and ensuring tax compliance in Paraguay. This includes all tax types: direct, indirect, local, and customs, except payroll withholdings. This is a general tax position covering the entire country. Previous
###experience### in all tax areas, specialties, or countries covered is not required; we particularly value a motivation to learn and grow professionally. Key Responsibilities:
###Responsibilities### include but are not limited to: In collaboration with the shared services center, the global tax team, and external consultants: - Take the lead in ensuring compliance with tax obligations, including leading the filing of tax returns for various taxes: IRE, VAT, ISC, etc. - Stay current on tax regulations and industry standards, evaluate the effect of new legislation on the business in each country, and provide related recommendations.
- Maintain close relationships with the Region’s operations and sales teams to stay informed of business changes that require tax analysis. Proactively find opportunities, such as available tax credits, and risks. - Partner with and aid the business in addressing particular questions that emerge, arranging and facilitating tax training as required, and supplying tax assistance for business decisions.
- Analyse the tax implications of new transactions and structures and propose strategies for tax optimization. - Assist in carrying out the transfer pricing policy (guided by the Transfer Pricing Manager). - Assist in responding to audit requests from the tax authority (“DNIT” – Dirección Nacional de Ingresos Tributarios) and requests for information from external and internal audits.
- Support external financial audits conducted in accordance with IFRS and local accounting standards (GAAP) regarding tax matters in the region. - Support tax transformation projects by improving processes and developing solutions to increase operational efficiency, including supporting the development and implementation of processes and templates/models. - Keep current with technology trends and improve your capabilities in tax technology and automation by working with the newest tools.
- Provide support for ad hoc tax projects or new initiatives.

###Experience### with accounting and tax software: ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365, Oracle FCCS, and TRCS, as well as tax filing and payment platforms. Key Relationship: Internal: - Finance function, including other tax colleagues, accounting, FP&A, treasury, country finance colleagues, etc. - Shared Services in Montevideo, office in Madrid.
