From the employerSummary Harbor Capital Advisors is seeking an experienced Tax Accountant to join its collaborative Tax and Corporate Accounting & Finance teams. This role will focus on asset management tax compliance, reporting, and planning across corporate and fund tax matters, including regulated investment company tax compliance and related financial reporting support. The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented tax professional who can review complex tax filings, coordinate effectively with internal teams and external service providers, and contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives.

###Responsibilities### Tax Compliance and Reporting Review federal corporate and fund tax filings, including Forms 1120 and 1120-RIC, and related supporting schedules. Assist with state and local tax compliance, including apportionment, estimated payments, extensions, notices, and related filings. Support tax reclaim and treaty relief filings, including coordination of documentation, service provider follow-up, and status tracking.
Assist with 81-100 group trust and collective investment trust compliance and reporting requirements. Maintain tax calendars, documentation, workpapers, and review evidence to support timely and accurate filings. Tax Provision, Financial Reporting, and Disclosures Prepare and/or review corporate and fund tax provisions, related schedules, and supporting analyses.
Prepare and/or review regulated investment company (“RIC”) qualification tests. Assist with financial statement tax disclosures and other tax-related reporting deliverables such as ASC 740 documentation. Support Mutual Fund / ETF periodic distributions and related shareholder tax reporting.
Collaborate with Accounting, Fund Administration, Legal, Compliance, and external auditors on tax reporting matters. Planning, Controversy, and Service Provider Coordination Assist with tax controversy matters, including notices, inquiries, audits, and documentation requests. Coordinate with service providers to manage deliverables, review work product, resolve open items, and ensure deadlines are met.
Monitor relevant developments in asset management, RIC, corporate, state, and foreign tax matters. Automation, Data, and Continuous Improvement Participate in tax automation projects designed to improve efficiency, controls, and repeatability in tax and accounting processes.

###Qualifications### Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, taxation, or a related field. CPA license or CPA eligible status required. Approximately 3-6 years of relevant tax accounting experience.
