Our Tax-Exempt practice provides clients with tax guidance and planning related

to protecting tax-exempt status, preparing and/or reviewing tax returns for

exempt organizations and their taxable affiliates (990s/1120s/1065s) and related

filings, including international filings as needed, IRS audit defense

strategies, and other relevant tax matters. Our people work on key client issues

in domestic federal taxation, with a focus on implementing tax strategies that

align with the client's business objectives.

RSM is looking for a dynamic Tax Manager to join our growing Exempt Orgs Tax

practice. This practice provides clients with tax guidance and planning related

to protecting tax-exempt status, preparing and/or reviewing tax returns for

exempt organizations and their taxable affiliates (990s/1120s/1065s) and related

filings, including international filings as needed, IRS audit defense

strategies, and other relevant tax matters. Our people work on key client issues

in domestic federal taxation, with a focus on implementing tax strategies that

align with the client's business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tax compliance and/or advisory services to complex tax-exempt

organizations

  • Work as part of a dedicated team of experienced exempt organization tax

professionals

  • Build and manage a portfolio of client relationships of varying size and

scope and act as the point of contact for internal and external clients

  • Manage teams of tax professionals and assistants working on client projects
  • Manage risk and financial performance of engagements including billings,

collections, and tax project budgets

  • Participate in and contribute to market and business activities external to

the firm

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in public accounting
  • CPA license in one's principal place of business/home state, licensed J.D. Or

Enrolled Agent

  • Experience providing tax compliance and/or advisory services

to complex tax-exempt organizations, including hospitals and health systems.

  • Experience managing team members and engagements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience serving large, complex exempt organizations, including

nonprofit hospitals, integrated health systems, academic medical centers, and

multi-entity structures

  • Strong technical knowledge of IRC Sections 501(c)(3), 511–514 (unrelated

business income), 4958 (intermediate sanctions), and 509(a)

  • Experience working with organizations that maintain complex investment

portfolios, including private equity, hedge funds, alternative investments,

and related K-1 / K-3 reporting considerations

  • In-depth experience with Schedule H (hospitals), Schedule K, and other

complex Form 990 reporting requirements

  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to coordinate across

service lines and geographies to deliver integrated client solutions

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect

their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary

range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents

numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited

to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such,

pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $95,400 - $180,400

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus

based on firm and individual performance.
