Manager, Product Manager - Hotels Tax & Compliance, Capital One Travel
Role description
From the employerManager, Product Manager - Hotels Tax & Compliance, Capital One Travel
MANAGER, PRODUCT MANAGEMENT - HOTELS TAX & COMPLIANCE, CAPITAL ONE TRAVEL
Our Hotels organization is evolving, and we are launching a dedicated Tax and
Compliance vertical to ensure our platform meets global regulatory standards.
Historically, tax requirements lived across various teams; now, we are giving
this domain a formal "home." As the first Product Manager for this new team, you
will lead a lean, scrappy pod of engineers, focused on building a scalable,
compliant foundation.
The Role
- This is a "0-to-1" opportunity characterized by high ambiguity and heavy
- stakeholder management. You will act as the strategic bridge between Legal,
- Risk, and Engineering, taking complex regulatory advice and translating it into
- a technical roadmap. Because tax impacts nearly every corner of our tech stack,
- you will navigate diverse touchpoints across the organization to ensure our
- back-end systems handle tax logic with precision.
- Who You Are
- A Strategic Translator: You are detail-oriented and enjoy parsing legal
requirements to turn them into clear, actionable engineering tasks.
- A Back-End Expert: You are comfortable working deep in the tech stack. It
requires a strong grasp of system architecture and logic.
- An Ambiguity Navigator: You thrive in undefined spaces. You can look at the
"big picture," identify gaps in how we currently operate, and build the
"proper" way to do things from scratch.
- A Relationship Builder: You are an expert at managing high-stakes
partnerships with Legal and Risk while maintaining a strong, focused culture
within your engineering squad.
