**Tax Risk Assurance and Control Advisor**
**In this role You will:**
- Support the planning, execution, and oversight of second-line assurance activities under the ITCF framework, ensuring testing is well-scoped, evidence-based, and aligned with control objectives (including assurance over controls operated and owned by the third party outsources service provider)
- Define testing scope and approach, review evidence, assess control effectiveness, and contribute to assurance reporting and partner feedback
- Respond to developments in company businesses or the external control environment by recommending updates to the policy and/or the underlying process documents
- Find opportunities for simplification and digital enablement across control assurance activities
- Own the responsibility for development and delivery of the master data management process
- Oversee the management of ITCF user and operational queries, driving timely resolution and raising issues
- Support the provision of data-driven insights to support the Quarterly performance review.
- Support the delivery of the Annual ITCF risk assessment process.
- Support the offering of control advisory support to partners, helping interpret control requirements and promote ownership of indirect tax risk management
- Support the delivery of communications and training sessions on control expectations, testing outcomes, and remediations to partners within company and beyond
**What You need to be successful:**
- Relevant experience in audit, internal controls or risk management
- Proven track record in participating in assurance programs and control testing activities
- Fluency in English
- Strong understanding of indirect taxes, their risks and impact on business operations
- Good understanding of finance and accounting processes, with exposure to SAP or similar systems.
- Digital attitude with a focus on simplification and continuous improvement. Experience in bp applications would be highly commendable.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage senior partners – both internal to bp and beyond - and promote control ownership.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a pro-active approach to problem-solving
