As an Assistant Customs Declarant, you will play a key role in supporting daily customs operations by preparing, reviewing, and organizing essential documentation. Working closely with experienced Declarants, you’ll gain hands‑on exposure to customs systems, procedures, and compliance requirements while building the foundation for future growth. This role is ideal for someone eager to develop expertise in customs processes within a structured and collaborative environment.

**About the role**

As an Assistant Customs Declarant, you will support the customs team with the preparation, checking, and administration of customs documentation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills in customs operations, with guidance from experienced team members and room to grow into more advanced responsibilities.

NB\* **You must hold a recognised Diploma Assistant Declarant.** Applications without this diploma will not be considered.

**How you will contribute**

  • Support Declarants with daily customs tasks and administrative checks.
  • Review commercial and customs documents for completeness and accuracy.
  • Prepare part-level files in WMS/CRF systems and submit data to the Customs Management System.
  • Share customs-related information with inbound and planning teams to support warehouse operations.
  • Assist in preparing documentation for periodic declarations (GPA).
  • Maintain accurate and organized customs files for audit readiness.
  • Prepare simple transit (T1/T2), import, and export declarations under supervision.
  • Communicate with carriers, customs brokers, and internal teams to collect missing information.

**What you will bring**

  • MBO working and thinking level.
  • The **Diploma Assistant Declarant**.
  • Experience within a customs or logistics environment.
  • Knowledge of national and EU customs legislation and procedures.
  • Experience with automated customs systems and MS Office.
  • Good oral and written command of the Dutch and English language.
  • Strong analytical skills and a sharp eye for detail.
  • You’ll work on-site four days a week, with the flexibility to work from home one day per week.
