Our PwC Private Business Tax team is looking for a Director to join our vast community of solvers. The Business Tax team brings our purpose to life by working with clients throughout their entire business lifecycle, from supporting growing privately-owned businesses, entrepreneurs, and start-ups, to estate and succession planning, to wealth preservation, and everything in between. We provide holistic solutions that ensure our clients can grow and protect their businesses and wealth with confidence.

You’ll help solve complex problems by using your skills in

  • Managing client engagements and building trusted relationships with private business owners and key stakeholders.
  • Leading tax compliance, tax planning and tax advisory services for large client groups with multiple types of entities including trusts, companies, partnership and individuals;
  • Overseeing tax return preparation and review, ensuring accuracy, quality and compliance
  • Advising clients on tax-efficient strategies to optimise their tax positions, including succession planning, mergers and acquisitions, and reorganisation.
  • Supporting clients through ATO review or audit programs.
  • Ability to analyse complex financial data and tax issues and experience with tax filings and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements
  • Identifying potential tax risks and developing strategies to mitigate them to protect our clients' interests.
  • Providing updates to clients on tax-related issues, helping them stay informed about changes in tax legislation.
  • Mentoring and supporting junior staff; fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.

What we're looking for

Experience working with clients across a wide range of industries (financial services, tech, manufacturing, consumer, retail) through all stages of their business life cycle including; growth and succession/exit, developing solutions for the complex problems that arise in each stage.

Extensive experience in Australian business/private client tax, with a strong track record leading complex tax compliance, planning and advisory engagements.

Proven ability to manage and grow trusted client relationships with private business owners, family groups, and key stakeholders.

Expertise in delivering complex corporate tax compliance and consulting advice, domestic tax issues including consolidation, restructuring advice, involvement in M&A transactions and ATO engagements.

Driving client growth by delivering exceptional service and identifying opportunities for additional services and solutions.

Experience leading teams, mentoring junior staff and fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment.

A commercial mindset, with the ability to identify client needs, manage tax risks and deliver practical, high-quality solutions.
