The Consultant helps clients make informed business decisions in response to VAT developments. This includes monitoring changes to VAT legislation and providing guidance tailored to each client’s compliance requirements. The Consultant prepares and submits VAT declarations in countries where clients conduct strategic transactions.

The role

also manages client relationships, communicates with tax authorities in multiple countries, and monitors related VAT processes. This position requires strong client-service skills,

experience

working with tax authorities across multiple jurisdictions, and technical VAT knowledge. A career as a VAT Consultant may suit individuals who enjoy researching and analyzing complex issues, developing subject-matter expertise, and communicating technical information clearly.

Duties

and Responsibilities: Identify and understand each client’s business and transaction flows to help ensure VAT compliance is completed efficiently and that VAT declarations and associated documents are submitted by the appropriate deadlines. Analyze VAT data submitted by clients and prepare and validate VAT declarations to help ensure completed forms comply with legislation and regulations in each country.

Serve as a point of contact for clients and prepare reports and advisory emails. Serve as a point of contact for tax authorities in countries where clients conduct strategic transactions. Manage the receipt of and responses to information requests and audits conducted by tax authorities on behalf of clients.

Assist the Senior or Manager with complex client business matters. Follow up on VAT registration and deregistration processes to help ensure compliance with legislation and regulations in different countries. Help businesses and individuals develop strategies for managing VAT and preparing for future financial-market considerations.

Proactively research VAT developments and update the VAT knowledge database. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Law, Management, or Economics. Fluency in spoken and written English.
