The opportunity

Join Flexport's dynamic Customs team, a critical pillar in our mission to make global trade easier for everyone. As a Customs Analyst, you'll work day-to-day with our operations, sales, and legal teams, as well as directly with clients, ensuring their shipments navigate complex international regulations smoothly. You'll be instrumental in processing customs declarations, classifying goods, and resolving real-time challenges that arise in the fast-paced world of cross-border logistics. This role offers a unique chance to contribute to a culture of precision and proactive problem-solving, directly impacting our clients' success and Flexport's growth in a heavily regulated industry.

You will

  • Process and submit customs declarations accurately and efficiently for

clients across the EMEA region.

  • Conduct tariff classification of goods and ensure correct valuation in

compliance with local and international regulations.

  • Collaborate with internal operations teams and external clients to gather

necessary documentation and resolve customs-related queries.

  • Monitor and interpret changes in customs laws and regulations, advising on

potential impacts and necessary adjustments.

  • Identify and escalate complex customs issues to senior analysts or

management, contributing to timely resolutions.

  • Maintain meticulous records and ensure all customs activities adhere to

Flexport's high standards of compliance.

You should have

  • 1+ year of experience in customs brokerage, trade compliance, or a related

field.

  • Solid understanding of customs procedures, import/export regulations, and

tariff classification within the EMEA region.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills to navigate

complex documentation and regulations.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively

interacting with clients and internal stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in customs declaration software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A 'compliance first' attitude to keep our regulators happy and enthusiastic

about Flexport since we operate in a heavily regulated industry.

  • Fluency in German and English.
