Customs Clearance Coordinator
Role description

To manage and coordinate end-to-end customs clearance and documentation
activities for import and export shipments, ensuring timely collection of
delivery orders, accurate document preparation and submission, effective
communication with customs, ports, chambers, consulates, and customers,
compliance with applicable regulations, and smooth execution of operations while
supporting and overseeing documentation staff as required.
Job responsibilities
- Arrange the collection of delivery orders by preparing cheque requests and
all required documentation for assigned clients.
- Manage communications and documentation for non-resident clients.
- Handle NVOCC, global import, and personal effects shipments in accordance
with applicable procedures.
- Liaise with Customs, Chambers of Commerce, freight forwarders, consulates,
and other relevant authorities to ensure smooth processing.
- Coordinate air and sea export shipments as per customer requirements and
provide regular shipment status updates.
- Ensure timely submission and follow-up of all customs documentation to meet
regulatory deadlines.
- Oversee documentation activities in the absence of the Supervisor or Manager,
ensuring continuity of operations.
- Coordinate with customers to ensure smooth and efficient execution of
clearance and documentation processes.
- Supervise and support documentation assistants and clerks, providing guidance
as required.
- Provide accurate and timely documentation, customs, port, and rate-related
information to the Operations Manager upon request.
- Stay updated on changes in customs, shipping, port, chamber, and consulate
regulations, tariffs, and procedures.
- Provide complete and accurate documentation to customers in line with their
requirements.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor Degree holder
Work Experience
- A minimum of 3 Years Experience in the field of freight forwarding and
documentation.
Competencies
- Able to work under stress & adaptation to change.
- Should be self-starter & able to manage the pressures & quick decision maker
Languages
- Able to read English
