Customs & Compliance Lead

As a Customs & Compliance Lead, you are responsible for the daily operations and further development of our customs activities. You support the team in their day-to-day work, maintain oversight and ensure that documents are handled correctly, efficiently and on time.

You act as a central point of contact within the department and provide support on complex cases and operational challenges. Thanks to your experience, you are able to quickly set priorities, bring structure and guide colleagues where needed.

In addition, you play an active role in optimizing processes and systems. You contribute to more efficient workflows, support colleagues as a key-user and collaborate with internal stakeholders to continuously improve the way we work.

You are involved in audits and permits, ensuring quality and compliance across the department. You also monitor files and claims, and take ownership of more complex cases when needed.

Finally, you play an important role in onboarding new clients by ensuring a smooth start, guiding initial cases and guaranteeing a seamless transition to the team’s daily operations.

Requirements

• You are an experienced declarant with solid knowledge of customs processes and formalities (import, export, transit and PoUS).
• You are familiar with key systems and regulations and have experience with various customs procedures and special regimes (e.g. CBAM, bonded warehouses, (global) fiscal representation and VAT warehousing).
• You have an interest in IT and feel comfortable acting as a key-user within operational systems.
• You work independently, accurately and with a strong sense of responsibility.
• You are a true team player who shares knowledge and supports colleagues when needed.
• You have a good command of Dutch and English; knowledge of French is a plus
