Are you an experienced Customs Consultant looking for an exciting new

At ALS, we specialise in customs brokerage and international trade advisory

services, helping businesses navigate complex customs regulations and trade

challenges. As part of our expansion, we’re seeking a skilled Customs Consultant

to join our expert team and contribute to our growing service portfolio.

Your Role & Responsibilities

As a Customs Consultant, you will play a key role in delivering expert customs

advisory services, ensuring compliance with ever-changing regulations, and

helping clients optimise their customs processes.

Your key responsibilities will include

• Customs & Trade Advisory – Provide expert guidance on customs regulations,

compliance strategies, and trade optimisation opportunities.

• Client Relationship Management – Build and maintain strong client

relationships, acting as a trusted advisor for their customs needs.

• Business Development – Identify new business opportunities, contribute to

sales strategies, and prepare proposals to expand our consultancy services.

• Regulatory Compliance – Stay up to date with UK, EU, and international

customs regulations, ensuring clients remain compliant and minimise risks.

• Process Improvement – Work with clients to optimise their customs and trade

operations, driving efficiencies and cost savings.

• Market Research & Insights – Monitor industry trends, competitor activities,

and emerging opportunities to keep ALS ahead of the curve.

What You Bring

To succeed in this role, you’ll need

• 5+ years of experience in customs consultancy or a related field

(international trade, customs brokerage, or supply chain management).

• Strong knowledge of UK & EU customs regulations, trade procedures, and

compliance requirements.

• Experience with special customs procedures (such as Inward Processing,

Outward Processing, and Customs Warehousing) is a plus.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to

interpret complex regulatory requirements.

• Strong communication and presentation skills – the ability to simplify and

explain technical customs concepts to clients. • Advanced Excel skills (Power

Query, PowerPivot, pivot tables, data analysis).

• Strong organisational and project management skills.

• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating

effectively with the wider team.
