The following position is to join RTX Enterprise Services team:
Enterprise Services Customs Operations (ESCO) is seeking an experienced professional to join our organization as the Export Advisor Team Lead, with a specialized focus on Customs compliance. In this key support role, you will work closely with the Export Operations Manager to ensure the Export Advisor team operates smoothly and effectively, delivering compliant, accurate, and timely execution of export declarations and Customs-related trade compliance activities.
As a subject matter expert in Customs compliance within the broader Global Trade framework, you will assist the Export Operations Manager in coordinating workflows, resolving challenges, and facilitating communication across cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Customs compliance and hands-on experience in exporter/importer environments or related fields such as Customs Brokerage, Freight Forwarding, or Government Licensing, playing a critical role in supporting the company’s global trade compliance efforts.
What You Will Do
- Provide expert guidance on export regulatory requirements and Customs compliance to help the team navigate complex processes
- Serve as a key point of contact for team questions and assistance with resolving export issues and compliance concerns
- Collaborate closely with the Export Operations Manager to align team efforts with organizational priorities
Facilitate coordination and communication between the Export Advisor team and cross-functional partners including Global Trade, Shipping, Receiving, International Logistics, Customs Brokers, and Freight Forwarders
Assist in reviewing and validating shipment data such as valuation, country of origin, and product classifications for accuracy
Help monitor team performance and identify opportunities to improve export declaration workflows through process enhancements and tool updates
Support customer engagements by helping to maintain clear communication and thorough documentation
Promote a culture of compliance, quality, and continuous improvement alongside the Export Operations Manager
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
Experience handling transitional audits and traditional customs audit frameworks.
Experience with Microsoft Office, SAP-based systems
Experience working with U.S. Customs regulations and domestic and international import/export trade requirements, including experience interpreting requirements and ensuring compliance.
Experience handling Classified shipments, Transportation Plans, and/or NOCs
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience with ITCS, RGEMS.
Experience working in Defense industry
Demonstrated experience collaborating with geographically dispersed or remote teams using virtual communication and collaboration tools to coordinate activities and maintain team alignment.
Demonstrated experience identifying discrepancies, researching root causes, implementing corrective actions, and recommending process improvements
Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) and/or Certified Export Specialist (CES) certifications
Experience with ABI, ACE, DDTC, HTS, export/import valuation, Other Government Agency requirements, CBP processes, and U.S. Government export regulations related to compliant export declaration filings (EEI filings)
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines by organizing workload, tracking deliverables, and completing time-sensitive activities within established requirements.

Work Location: This is a hybrid role, eligible candidates must reside within commuting distance of Richardson, TX, Farmington, CT, Cedar Rapids, IA, Andover, MA, McKinney, TX or Tucson, AZ.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
