Job Description
The opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a tax professional who enjoys combining technical expertise with process improvement, digital transformation, and business partnering. As Deputy Tax Manager, you will play a key role in supporting and continuously enhancing the tax function across a broad range of direct and indirect tax matters.
Working closely with business leaders, finance teams, shared services, and external stakeholders, you will contribute to both operational and strategic tax activities for legal entities in Poland. This role offers exposure to multiple tax disciplines, making it an ideal opportunity for professionals who enjoy a broad scope of responsibility rather than specializing in a single area.
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience gained in consulting, advisory, tax technology, or complex multinational environments. You will have the opportunity to influence tax processes, drive efficiencies through automation and digitalization initiatives, and contribute to building a modern, future-ready tax function.
If you enjoy solving complex challenges, taking ownership, and translating tax requirements into practical business solutions, this role offers the visibility, autonomy, and growth opportunities to make a meaningful impact.
How you'll make an impact
Support the management of direct and indirect tax matters across VAT, corporate income tax (CIT), withholding tax (WHT), excise duties, and mandatory disclosure reporting (MDR), helping ensure compliance with local regulations and reporting requirements.
Take a holistic approach to tax compliance in Poland by overseeing tax return filings, monitoring reporting obligations, and ensuring accurate and timely submissions across the organization.
Contribute to quarterly and annual tax reporting activities, including the preparation and review of current and deferred tax positions in line with applicable accounting standards.
Provide support in transfer pricing reporting and documentation while collaborating with internal stakeholders on activities related to tax credits, incentives, and other available tax optimization opportunities.
Identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities within direct and indirect tax compliance and reporting processes and help drive initiatives that strengthen controls and increase efficiency.
Support group tax reporting requirements, including participation in global reporting processes and tax-related projects such as J-CFC reporting.
Drive the development and continuous improvement of tax processes, procedures, and governance frameworks to enhance efficiency, consistency, and productivity across the tax function.
Coordinate responses to tax authority inquiries and audits by reviewing supporting documentation, validating information received from stakeholders, and managing electronic communication channels with tax authorities.
Contribute to tax technology and digitalization initiatives/projects by supporting testing activities, validating system outputs, and helping ensure tax requirements are effectively embedded in business processes. Partner with finance and accounting teams to improve accounting and booking processes from a tax perspective, support automation initiatives, and implement changes resulting from new tax legislation.
Maintain tax documentation, tax calendars, internal procedures, and audit-ready supporting files while building constructive relationships with tax authorities, business partners, shared service teams, auditors, and external advisors.
Your background
Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate tax, tax advisory, or consulting.
Strong knowledge of Polish tax regulations, including VAT, CIT, and WHT.
Experience managing complex tax matters across multiple tax disciplines.
Understanding of international taxation and double tax treaties.
Experience with tax technology, ERP systems, or digital transformation projects.
Strong analytical skills and confidence in making independent decisions.
Fluency in English and Polish.
University degree in Finance, Tax, Accounting, Economics.
