About the role

The Director, Global Tax is responsible for managing Sun Life’s Global Minimum Tax (GMT) compliance and GMT-related planning and initiatives.

requirements

Maintain tax forecasting models to provide accurate and impactful financial analyses/ insights Manage and develop tax professionals on the GMT team What you'll need to succeed Minimum of 8 years of progressive tax

experience

in a large multinational corporation and/or major accounting firm CPA designation required; completion of a MTax program or CPA Canada In Depth Tax Course is strongly preferred Technical knowledge of OECD Global Minimum Tax rules and Canada’s Global Minimum Tax Act, as applicable to a Canadian multinational group Understanding of the asset management and insurance business is an asset Ability to pick up new/ changes to tax legislation, understand the relevant law and synthesize this with business facts and circumstances to provide actionable advice Strong proficiency in tax accounting/ financial reporting under IFRS Proven

implementing process improvements, including

leveraging technology to implement automated solutions Strong project management skills, including directing a team and ability to balance workload and priorities, coordinating outsourcing engagements, as well as influencing people in other teams to meet deadlines Excellent oral and written communication
