Lyft is looking for a seasoned and strategic Director of Tax to join our Global Tax Team&excl; As a Director of Tax&comma; you will lead and shape the income tax planning function&comma; driving enterprise-wide strategies to optimize our global tax position&period; You will serve as a key leader and advisor across cross-functional business teams — including product&comma; engineering&comma; legal&comma; accounting&comma; and broader finance — surfacing tax issues&comma; solving complex problems&comma; and delivering actionable solutions while owning critical responsibilities&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;

**Responsibilities<&sol;strong><&sol;h2>&NewLine;&NewLine;- Define and lead comprehensive US international and global tax strategies aligned with business objectives&comma; minimizing liabilities and optimizing cash flow — including advising on M&amp&semi;A&comma; new market entry&comma; and structuring of global investments<&sol;li>&NewLine;- Serve as the senior advisor on intercompany transactions&comma; ensuring US and international compliance and tax efficiency in cross-border arrangements&comma; including ownership of global transfer pricing policies and strategy<&sol;li>&NewLine;- Lead research and provide authoritative analysis on complex US international tax matters&comma; including Pillar II&comma; GILTI&comma; FDII&comma; BEAT&comma; and inbound and outbound transactions<&sol;li>&NewLine;- Own the quarterly and annual income tax provision process as the senior subject matter expert for US international tax under ASC 740<&sol;li>&NewLine;- Oversee the quantification and management of tax reserves in compliance with ASC 450<&sol;li>&NewLine;- Build and manage relationships with third-party service providers&comma; and serve as a strategic partner to Lyft's finance&comma; accounting&comma; product&comma; engineering&comma; HR&comma; and legal teams to ensure all tax requirements are met<&sol;li>&NewLine;- Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals&comma; fostering a culture of excellence&comma; development&comma; and collaboration<&sol;li>&NewLine;- Anticipate and adapt to shifting regulatory landscapes and business priorities&semi; proactively identify and communicate tax risk and opportunity to senior leadership<&sol;li>&NewLine;- Monitor and assess tax law changes impacting Lyft's business&comma; analyzing legislation&comma; leading scenario modeling&comma; and translating complex tax matters into clear guidance for executive stakeholders<&sol;li>&NewLine;<&sol;ul>&NewLine;## Experience<&sol;strong><&sol;h2>&NewLine;&NewLine; - 12&plus; years of progressive corporate income tax experience&comma; with a strong focus on tax planning for multinational corporations with operations in EMEA and APAC<&sol;li>&NewLine; - Demonstrated leadership experience managing tax professionals and cross-functional initiatives at scale<&sol;li>&NewLine; - Deep expertise in US international tax and transfer pricing principles and their application to technology businesses<&sol;li>&NewLine; - Proven track record developing tax forecasts and building sophisticated tax models to support strategic decision-making<&sol;li>&NewLine; - Strong technical knowledge of ASC 740 and ASC 450<&sol;li>&NewLine; - Established ability to cultivate executive-level relationships and communicate complex tax matters clearly to all levels of the organization<&sol;li>&NewLine; - Exceptional project management and organizational skills&comma; with the ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced&comma; high-pressure environment<&sol;li>&NewLine; - Demonstrated ability to balance individual ownership and accountability with broad cross-functional collaboration<&sol;li>&NewLine; - Exceptional verbal and written communication skills&comma; including the ability to translate complex tax topics for non-tax business partners<&sol;li>&NewLine; - Strong attention to detail with an unwavering commitment to accuracy and compliance<&sol;li>&NewLine; - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Suite&semi; experience with accounting systems are a plus<&sol;li>&NewLine;<&sol;ul>&NewLine;## Preferred Qualifications<&sol;strong><&sol;h2>&NewLine;&NewLine;
