Equipment Finance Tax Specialist I

This position assists in preparing tax materials and performs tax accounting duties in support of the Equipment Financing function of the Bank. Prepares tax materials, assists in audits and responds to tax correspondence.
Responsibilities
Sourcing, compiling, and interpreting financial data. Effectively communicating results to the business.
Reviewing and approving tax documentation to determine if tax exemptions are valid based on customer, contract, and equipment type by state.
Assisting in the preparation and distribution of state and local tax documents including business licenses, tax filings and payments.
Developing and maintaining a strong knowledge of existing or revised tax codes, laws, and forms. Researching tax laws and interpreting, applying, and communicating findings to the business.
Calculating and communicating state tax rules, rates and payments to internal and external parties.
Assisting in state and local tax audits. Compiling information and reporting to management. Ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and tax laws.
Qualifications
- Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- OR
- High School Diploma/GED and 4 years of Tax Analysis experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Detail oriented
- Highly organized with a strong attention to meeting deadlines
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access
- Accounting Major, CPA or CMI certifications
- Strong knowledge of tax law
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access
- Ability to work effectively on a team
- Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
