
Fiduciary and Tax Manager (Confidential Search-Private Family Office)
Role description
From the employerWe are conducting a confidential search for a Fiduciary and Tax Manager for a private family office. The **Fiduciary and Tax Manager** provides dedicated technical expertise in tax planning, compliance, and fiduciary accounting for the family office. This role is centrally focused on the **financial and tax-related performance** of the family’s wealth structures, collaborating closely across the family office team to ensure seamless execution of the estate plan.
As a family office, all the staff work very closely together in a collegial work environment and have regular direct contact with family members. This is an onsite position in the office in Newtown Square, PA.
**Essential Responsibilities:**
- Advise the family office on a full suite of tax services including structuring and modeling, succession planning, wealth transfer planning, and tax compliance.
- Manage and oversee both the engagement and annual tax compliance responsibilities as part of a team for a variety of fiduciary, gift/estate taxation, partnerships, trusts, individuals and philanthropic entities.
- Review tax returns and related work papers for a variety of entities.
- Resolve complex technical tax issues, consult with experts, prepare memoranda and communicate findings to senior management in a synthesized manner.
- Work closely with outside tax advisors on annual tax compliance.
- Work internally with other family office team members, serving as a resource and subject matter expert for all relevant family office tax items.
- Participate in cross-functional projects supporting operational and departmental excellence.
- Develop and sustain strong relationships with clients and other professional advisors through a commitment to outstanding client service.
**Experience and Education Requirements:**
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
- CPA or JD highly preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience working in public accounting or a family office with an emphasis on taxation and/or trusts and estates required.
- Past experience and demonstrated understanding of HNW and UHNW tax law and strategies required.
- Recent experience managing complex client engagements required.
- Proficiency in at least one area of entity, individual and/or fiduciary taxation required.
- Deep understanding of complex investments and the related tax implications required.
- Familiarity with multi-state taxation.
**Compensation:**
The compensation range for this role is between **$150,000-$165,000** annually, based on relevant experience.
