We are looking for a talented Payroll Tax Analyst Sr. to join our Payroll team

for Cummins Services – HR Operations at Cummins Comercializadora in San Luis

Potosí, SLP, Mexico.

Work Modality: Hybrid, 3 days on site, 2 days home office.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways

  • Oversee end-to-end US/CA tax withholdings, deposits, and employment tax

return filings across multiple state and federal jurisdictions.

  • Act as the subject matter expert in researching and resolving complex tax

notices, audits, and discrepancies with the IRS, state, and local tax

authorities.

  • Conduct routine audits of employee tax setups, tax configurations, and

payroll data.

  • Reconcile gross payroll, tax deductions, and general ledger accounts.
  • Manage tax updates, SUI rates, and tax jurisdictions in HCM/Payroll systems

(e.g., SAP, Oracle).

  • Oversee annual year-end processes, including adjustments, amendments, and

W-2/W-2c remediation.

  • Manage escalation of Answers queries and explain tax withholding and other

adjustments that conclude in net pay

  • Partner with payroll team members to help ensure correct handling of more

complex tax setups (e.g. expats, stock, work/res split jurisdictions).

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role, you will need the following

  • 5+ years of relevant payroll tax experience supporting a large employee

population, including remote employees, within a multi-state and multi-entity

organization.

  • Strong knowledge of US and/or Canadian payroll tax regulations
  • Strong working knowledge of major HRIS/Payroll systems (e.g., SAP) and

third-party tax applications (e.g., ADP SmartCompliance).

  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal, multi-state, provincial and local wage

and hour and tax regulations

  • Strong working knowledge of taxation of fringe benefits/BIK and long-term

equity incentive instruments (RSUs, NQ Stock Options, etc.)

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail with high service orientation,

integrity, discretion, and ownership of work with the ability to work

independently

  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Intermediate to advanced analytical skillset, including the use of Excel

V-Lookup and Pivot Tables and/or other tools

  • Able to handle confidential information and issues effectively and without

breach of confidentiality}

  • Advanced English Level required

Preferred

  • French Canadian language level is a plus.

Education, Licenses, and Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or administration.
