MANAGER OF TAX GERMANY

Position Goal

Lead and develop the tax function for the German entities, ensuring tax

compliance, effective tax strategies and optimized tax processes while

supporting the business and strategic projects.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and enforce Group-wide tax processes, policies and

compliance standards

  • Prepare and review German tax returns, tax balance sheets and E-Bilanz,

including review of resulting tax assessments

  • Prepare VAT advance returns and excise tax returns accurately and within

required deadlines

  • Manage and coordinate tax audits and act as a key contact for external

auditors

  • Further develop and optimize the Tax Compliance Management System and

tax-related processes

  • Develop and implement effective tax strategies, particularly in the area of

German and international tax law

  • Provide expert advice on VAT-related business matters and assess the tax

implications of intercompany transactions

  • Determine tax provisions and provide ad-hoc tax analyses and reporting
  • Monitor changes in applicable tax legislation and assess their impact on the

German and wider Nexi Group structure

  • Support post-merger integrations, system migrations and other strategic

projects from a tax perspective

  • Collaborate closely with Finance, Accounting and other relevant departments

across the Nexi Group

  • Improve Finance processes through SAP functionality and SAP customizing in

collaboration with the SAP team

  • Lead, develop and support a small team of tax specialists

Qualifications

Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Law or similar with a focus on

Taxation, or equivalent qualification. Alternatively, commercial training

combined with a tax advisor qualification. 5–10 years of experience in German

and international tax law, ideally within a corporate tax department or large

tax consulting firm.

Professional skills

Strong knowledge of German and international tax law, VAT and tax compliance;

Experience with tax reporting, tax provisions and intercompany taxation; Good

SAP knowledge, ideally SAP R/3 FI or S/4HANA; Excellent Excel and MS Office

skills; Strong understanding of accounting and financial processes; Ability to

develop tax strategies and translate tax requirements into practical business

solutions.

proactive and hands-on; Strong communication and stakeholder management skills;

Team-oriented with the ability to lead and develop others; Strong

problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Language skills

Fluent German and very good English.
