Job Title: Tax Manager

Job Summary

The role is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to aid Dangote Cement Plc in complying with tax legislation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Accurately preparing and filing federal and state tax returns in a timely manner.

Developing and implementing tax planning strategies to optimize the organization's tax position while maintaining compliance.

Identifying tax problems and developing solutions.

Coordinating and managing tax audits, investigations, and assessments by tax authorities

Completing responses to tax queries and objections.

Reviewing tax computations, returns and payment to ensure timely filing

Overseeing tax accounting and tax reporting in accordance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements

Conducting periodic tax health checks and ensuring adequate controls are in place to mitigate tax risks

Monitoring changes in tax legislation and advising management on their impact on the business

Reviewing contracts and business transactions to identify tax implications and recommend tax-efficient structures.

Review and assess related party transactions to ensure compliance with transfer pricing regulations, tax laws, and company policies

Providing advisory, training and guidance to internal stakeholders on tax compliance requirements

Supervising members of the tax team to ensure that tax returns are completed correctly.

Key Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Accounting or related discipline.

Relevant professional accounting qualification such as. ACA, ACCA etc.

Minimum of (10) years relevant work experience.

Big 4 experience is an advantage

Skills and Competencies

Proven experience as a tax manager or similar role

Strong knowledge of tax legislation, particularly corporate taxation, indirect taxation, transfer pricing and tax administration

Extensive knowledge of tax legislation.

Ability to manage tax audits and regulatory engagements

Proficient in SAP, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
