Your role and responsibilities
You will be responsible for the correct application, monitoring, and oversight of customs legislation and trade regulations.
You act as a trusted internal advisor to various departments on customs matters, import/export requirements, and trade compliance risks.
You analyze existing operational processes to identify risks, optimize procedures, and drive continuous efficiency improvements.
You advise on product tariff classification, manage rules of origin and preferential trade agreements, and perform export control and sanctions screenings.
You develop and deliver training to internal stakeholders on customs compliance procedures and best practices.
You monitor changes in international trade legislation and assess their impact on our business operations.
You support internal audits, assist with customs authority inquiries, and help maintain required customs authorizations and licenses.
Your profile
Bachelor degree or equivalent by experience;
2 - 3 years of experience and at least 2 years of experience in a customs and trade compliance related function;
Experience in legal analysis, compliance, risk management;
Knowledge of global customs regulations, trade compliance and logistics processes;
Familiarity with trade compliance software and tools and/or ERP systems;
Good understanding of the functioning of processes and procedures;
Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments;
Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to resolving issues;
Knowledge of risk, internal control, internal audit and monitoring techniques is considered a plus;
Fluent in Dutch & English both spoken and written, French is a plus.
