Job Description

Summary: Cambridge Associates (CA) is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Associate to join the Fund Solutions team in Boston, MA. Fund Solutions is a growing team and a key part of the firm’s investment fund business, supporting a broad range of clients and internal stakeholders. The Senior Tax Associate will be a core member of the Fund Solutions Tax Operations group.

Responsibilities

include reviewing tax compliance deliverables, coordinating with internal teams and external service providers, and managing tax cycles to support timely federal, state, and international tax filings. This role will also provide opportunities to contribute to special projects and gain exposure to a range of tax matters, including fund tax structuring, fund-of-funds tax compliance, and private equity tax allocations.

We are seeking a trustworthy, detail-oriented individual with a strong work ethic, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to build strong working relationships internally and externally. Strong time management skills, including the ability to multitask and meet deadlines, are critical to success in this role.

Responsibilities

Work with third-party service providers to oversee K-1 compilation and support the accuracy and completeness of tax documents gathered and analyzed for tax returns and K-1s. Perform detailed reviews of tax workpapers, allocations, fund K-1s, and tax returns prepared by third-party providers. Review partner demographic information for accuracy and completeness.

Assist with collecting and tracking tax documents from fund managers related to CA’s investments in private equity and hedge funds, in coordination with CA’s tax advisor. Communicate with fund managers regarding questions related to tax documents. Review federal, state, and international tax notices and coordinate with internal teams and external tax advisors to resolve notices and facilitate any required payments to tax authorities.

Assist with federal and state tax audits, as applicable. Participate in regular meetings and communicate with external vendors to support timely delivery of tax compliance work. Maintain and update trackers, keep the Tax Manager informed of progress, and escalate concerns or obstacles to support timely completion of the tax lifecycle.

Perform tax research across federal, state and local, and international tax matters, and stay current on regulatory and tax law developments affecting the funds. Support senior management and take on additional tasks or projects as needed as part of the broader Fund Solutions team.

Qualifications

5+ years of public accounting or tax experience, with hedge fund and private equity industry

experience

strongly preferred. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, tax, or a related field. CPA and/or MST preferred. State and local or international tax

experience

is a plus. Shows enthusiasm for leveraging automation and AI tools to simplify and streamline tax workflows, improve accuracy, and enhance team efficiency and scalability. Demonstrated integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
