The Global Tax Manager will support OmniOn Power's worldwide tax function, including income tax accounting, global tax compliance, transfer pricing, indirect tax support, tax controversy, and tax process improvement initiatives. This position reports to the Global Tax Director and works closely with finance, accounting, treasury, legal, and external advisors across multiple jurisdictions.
This role is ideal for a technically strong tax professional who enjoys both tax accounting and international tax and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, global manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Tax Accounting
- Prepare and review quarterly and annual income tax provisions under ASC 740 (IFRS experience is a plus).
- Prepare and review current and deferred tax calculations.
- Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations related to income taxes.
- Assist with forecasting the company's effective tax rate and cash taxes.
- Support external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits.
- Global Tax Compliance
Coordinate the preparation of U.S. federal, state, and international income tax returns prepared by outside advisors.
Gather financial information and supporting documentation for global tax return preparation.
Review tax return workpapers and filings for completeness and accuracy.
Monitor filing deadlines and maintain the global tax compliance calendar.
Support estimated tax payments and tax accounting adjustments.
Transfer Pricing
Assist in the implementation and maintenance of global transfer pricing policies.
Coordinate collection of financial data required for transfer pricing documentation.
Support annual transfer pricing studies and benchmarking analyses.
Assist with intercompany agreements and transfer pricing calculations.
Coordinate responses to transfer pricing inquiries from external advisors and tax authorities.
Tax Controversy
Respond to federal, state, and international tax notices.
Coordinate information requests during tax audits.
Maintain documentation supporting tax positions.
Track audit issues and assist in preparing responses to taxing authorities.
Indirect Tax Support
Assist with sales and use tax, VAT, GST, and other indirect tax matters.
Support implementation and maintenance of tax technology solutions.
Assist with exemption certificate management and tax engine initiatives.
Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to automate and improve tax processes.
Develop and maintain tax procedures and documentation.
Improve data collection and reporting for tax compliance and tax accounting.
Participate in ERP implementations and finance transformation initiatives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Legal, Operations, Supply Chain, and Shared Services.
Work effectively with global finance teams across multiple time zones.
Manage relationships with external tax advisors.
Perform other duties as assigned.
As part of the global finance team, ability to work flexible hours is necessary, including with countries in different time zones.
Domestic and international travel contingent on location of the employee

Basic Qualifications
- CPA, Chartered Accountant, Enrolled Agent or equivalent professional certification
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Six to eight+ years of progressive corporate tax experience, including public accounting and/or multinational industry experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience preparing or reviewing ASC 740 income tax provisions
- Experience coordinating U.S. federal and state income tax compliance
- Experience supporting international tax compliance and transfer pricing
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Experience in a multinational manufacturing company
- Experience with SAP and tax reporting systems
- Experience working with external tax advisors and global compliance processes
- Familiarity with transfer pricing documentation and OECD guidelines
- Experience with tax technology, automation, or ERP implementations
- Ability to read, write, or speak Mandarin Chinese is strongly preferred
- Experience with IFRS income tax accounting is a plus
- Experience with indirect taxes, including sales and use tax and VAT/GST, is a plus
- Strong technical tax and accounting knowledge
