Job Title: CA Semi-Qualified / Graduate (GST Profile)

Experience: 1-3 years

Reports To: Partner

  • Position Overview

The candidate will be responsible for handling end-to-end GST compliance, annual filings, audit support, litigation, and advisory functions for clients across industries.

  • Key Responsibilities

A. GST Compliance & Returns

Preparation and filing of GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and other applicable returns on a monthly/quarterly basis

Reconciliation of GST returns with books of accounts (GSTR-2B vs purchase register, GSTR-1 vs sales)

Ensuring timely compliance and adherence to statutory deadlines

B. GST Annual Return & Audit

  • Preparation and filing of GST Annual Return (GSTR-9)
  • Preparation of GST Audit / Reconciliation Statement (GSTR-9C)
  • Detailed reconciliation between books, returns, and financial statements
  • Identification and reporting of discrepancies, tax exposures, and compliance gaps

C. GST Refunds

  • Preparation and filing of GST refund applications (exports, inverted duty structure, excess balance, etc.)
  • Follow-up with department and handling queries related to refund processing

D. GST Assessments & Notices

  • Handling GST assessments, scrutiny notices, and departmental communications
  • Drafting and submission of replies to reconciliation notices / mismatch notices (e.g., 2B vs books, 1 vs 3B)
  • Assisting in preparation of submissions for audits and investigations

E. GST Advisory & Consultancy

  • Providing on-call GST consultancy to clients on routine and complex issues
  • Drafting GST opinions and advisory notes on various transactions
  • Keeping clients updated on changes in GST laws, notifications, and circulars
  • Skill Requirements

Strong understanding of GST law, return filing, annual compliance, and audits

Working knowledge of GST portal and compliance tools

Good drafting skills for notices, replies, and opinions

Proficiency in Excel (reconciliations, data handling)

Ability to interpret notifications, circulars, and case laws

Attention to detail and adherence to timelines

  • Qualification

CA Semi-Qualified / B.Com / M.Com

2–5 years of experience in GST domain preferred

Client handling and communication skills

Ability to work under deadlines

Ownership of assigned tasks
