Role description

From the employer

This is a key operational role within the logistics function, responsible for end-to-end management of international freight from manufacturing origins in China (and other locations) to distribution centres and Amazon Fulfilment Centres across primary markets — the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and European Union.

The successful candidate will own the full shipping lifecycle: from coordinating factory loadings and export documentation, through freight bookings via Amazon Global Logistics (AGL) and third-party freight forwarders, to ensuring on-time arrival, customs compliance and accurate reporting across internal systems including Monday.com and SAP ByDesign.

**The Person our client is Looking For**

They need someone who thrives on problem solving, brings energy and proactivity to everything they do, and who is laser-focused on getting things done. They want a pragmatic, resilient operator who makes smart decisions under pressure, communicates clearly and proactively, and keeps the supply chain moving.

**Key Responsibilities**

**1. International Freight Management**

  • Manage international freight bookings from factories in China (and other manufacturing locations) to distribution centres in main markets (US, Canada, UK, EU).
  • Optimise international supply chain routes and container utilisation to minimise cost per unit.
  • Coordinate factory loadings at origin, ensuring all necessary export and import documentation is in place and accurate.
  • Monitor international transit in real time; proactively resolve issues including delays, route changes and capacity constraints.
  • Work closely with the account manager and other freight providers to understand network operating efficiency, capacity issues, and any threats to shipping timelines before making shipment plans and bookings.

**2. Amazon Global Logistics (AGL) — China to Amazon FCs**

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Amazon Global Logistics (AGL) account manager.
  • Lead the management and implementation of the shipping plan:
  • Work closely with finance and order merchandisers to align timing of the shipping plan so stock arrives in key markets at the right time.
  • Ensure timely and complete booking of all AGL shipments.
  • Maximise container utilisation to minimise cost per unit shipped.
  • Manage and monitor AGL shipments from China direct into Amazon FCs and Amazon Upstream / AWD.
  • Continuously understand and improve the process for AGL bookings, communications, cost management and shipment tracking.
  • Manage delivery communications with all relevant internal teams.

**3. Customs Compliance Documentation**

  • Ensure full compliance with international regulations and customs requirements across all shipping lanes.
  • Maintain a high standard of customs documentation accuracy to prevent delays or penalties.
  • Build and maintain knowledge pool and process documentation around international freight and Amazon logistics.

**4. Systems, Reporting Data**

  • Maintain critical path shipping milestones on Monday.com accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Manage and maintain Shipping decision and booking files or dashboards to keep internal stakeholders accurately informed of shipment details and status.
  • Learn and become competent in SAP ByDesign (ERP system)
  • Oversee accurate implementation of logistics data input into ByDesign.
  • Pull and analyse data from ByDesign to drive process improvements.

**5. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management**

  • Work closely with the supply chain team and manufacturing partners to proactively manage and minimise discrepancies.
  • Efficiently manage rebookings, consolidations and other preferred solutions when disruptions arise.
  • Maintain and advance the knowledge pool and process documentation around international freight and Amazon global logistics.

**Technical Experience**

  • 3+ years of Amazon Seller Central experience, preferably in a logistics or operations capacity.
  • 2+ years of direct experience making Amazon Global Logistics (AGL) shipment bookings.
  • Demonstrable understanding of international freight, customs clearance and import/export documentation.
  • Experience with Monday.com is preferred; training will be provided if not.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems is beneficial (SAP ByDesign experience is a plus).

**Character & Mindset**

  • A problem solver and doer — someone who is energised by challenges and focuses on solutions, not obstacles.
  • Proactive and communicative — you raise issues early, keep stakeholders informed, and never leave people guessing.
  • High attention to detail with accuracy you can stand behind — you learn quickly from any mistakes.
  • A team player who thrives in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.
  • Growth-oriented — you enjoy learning, improving processes, and making things bigger and better.
  • Intellectually curious about your field — you stay current through industry podcasts, LinkedIn, trade media and other sources.
  • Resilient and calm under pressure — you make good decisions when things don't go to plan.

**Communication**

  • Strong written and spoken English — you communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams, account managers and external partners.
