About the Role: As a Tax Intern, you will report to the Supervisory Accountant, Tax, and will be based out of our home office in Topeka, Kansas. We work a hybrid schedule, offering flexibility to work both remotely and on-site in the Topeka office. Hybrid working schedule will require in office time twice a week for this position. You will be responsible for:

Pulling information and preparing state filings

Preparing premium tax estimates

Preparing municipal filings for insurance companies

Assisting with various projects for the tax and finance department

What We’re Looking For

Students eligible for the internship will be fulltime students available to work approximately 19 hours a week, beginning in December 2026. Student will be expected to work during and in between semesters part time and up to 40 hours per week during the summer. This is not a summer only internship.

Full-time college student in Accounting major with at least a 3.0 GPA in major

Proficiency in all Microsoft applications

Strong analytical, problem solving, decision making, and organizational skills

Accuracy and the ability to be very detail oriented are crucial

Ability to think objectively and analytically

Ability to work with various levels of management

Demonstrates initiative and able to work independently

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
