You’ll join StockX’s collaborative Tax team, working closely with Accounting,

Product, Data Engineering, Customer Support, and external advisors to support

StockX’s growing global

business. In this role, you’ll take on new challenges daily by analyzing

transaction-level tax data,investigating Avalara and subledger variances,

supporting indirect tax filings, following up on tax

notices, and helping resolve data issues across systems. Your work will have a

direct impact on the accuracy of StockX’s tax reporting, compliance readiness,

audit support, and business

decision-making.

What you’ll do

  • Support indirect tax compliance and reporting by performing data

reconciliations, validating transaction and filing data, investigating

variances and system exceptions, maintaining issue tracking, and partnering

with Tax, Accounting, Product, and Engineering teams to improve tax

processes, reporting accuracy, system integrations, and data controls.

  • Monitor, review, and manage indirect tax exemption certificates across North

America;identify process improvement opportunities and support the

development of system enhancements.

  • Work closely with Data Engineering, Product, Accounting, and Tax team members

to investigate root causes, validate data fixes, improve reporting logic, and

strengthen tax data controls.

  • Support indirect tax filing preparation by organizing filing data, validating

reports,reviewing filing workpapers, and identifying unusual changes or

exceptions.

  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual indirect tax compliance

activities, including registrations, renewals, recurring tax forms, and other

compliance tasks.

  • Coordinate tax payment support by preparing payment details, confirming

amounts to supporting documents, and saving confirmations.

  • Maintain thorough tax records, including filing support, reconciliation

workpapers, payment and filing confirmations, tax notices, audit support

materials, and correspondence.

  • Monitor tax email accounts; triage, categorize, assign, track, and escalate

items as needed.

  • Manage communications with taxing authorities on notices, account balances,

filing status, payment application, registration status, audit inquiries, and

other open matters.

  • Check taxing authority online portals for notices, account messages, filing

confirmations, account balances, payment status, and required actions.

About you

  • 4+ years of experience in tax data analysis, finance operations, tax system

implementation, or a similar analytical role.

  • Proven ability to work with large datasets, reconcile data across multiple

systems, identify variances, document findings, and communicate issues

clearly to tax, finance,and IT stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and highly organized, with the ability to

juggle multiple reconciliations, notices, deadlines, and follow-ups

simultaneously.

  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills, including comfort

corresponding with taxing authorities, following up on notices, and

documenting outcomes clearly

Nice to have skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a

related field.

  • Experience with U.S. sales and use tax, indirect tax, VAT/GST, Avalara or

similar tax technology platforms, ERP/subledger systems, financial reporting

tools, or tax engine data.

  • Familiarity with SQL, Looker, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Python, Databricks

or similar data/reporting tools; experience working with Data Engineering or

Product teams is a plus.
